How to Claim Your Share of Apple’s $250 Million Siri Settlement

In May, Apple consented to pay $250 million as part of a class action lawsuit regarding accusations of overstating its Apple Intelligence tools, specifically the protracted update of Siri AI.

Even though the redesigned Siri AI voice assistant is now accessible for users of newer iPhones via iOS 27, you might still qualify to receive cash back for previous purchases. This settlement pertains to customers in the US who bought certain iPhone 15 or iPhone 16 models from Apple between June 10, 2024, and March 29, 2025. If you meet the criteria, you could be eligible for up to $95 for each device.

The settlement is centered on Apple’s marketing of Siri features to help sell iPhones. “I expected to receive a Siri Apple Intelligence feature and did not receive it,” is part of the statement you must sign when completing the claim form. Apple denies any wrongdoing as part of the settlement.

“We resolved this matter to maintain our focus on delivering the most innovative products and services to our users,” said part of Apple’s May statement regarding the settlement.

To submit a claim, visit the dedicated website: smartphoneaisettlement.com. Click the blue button in the top-right corner of the page labeled File A Claim. Initially, you will be prompted to indicate whether you have a Claim ID and PIN. You do not have to have this information readily available. On the final page, you’ll need to provide either your iPhone’s serial number or Apple Account ID to proceed with the claim.

Unsure of where to find your serial number? Open the Settings app, tap General, and then select About. Your serial number will appear as a string of letters and numbers near the top of the screen.

You can opt to receive the settlement funds through PayPal, Venmo, an electronic bank transfer, or via a paper check. If you possess multiple devices and wish to file claims for each, you will need to complete the form again for each eligible device. iPhone owners have until December 21 to submit their claims.
